The good news is that the UAE Government has an official portal for any assistance regarding visa-related services making it extremely convenient and quick.

  • Visit the official ICP (Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security) Smart Services portal link: https://smartservices.ica.gov.ae/echannels/web/client/default.html#/fileValidity.
  • Click “Change Language” and select the language you prefer.
  • On the Search By field, Select “Passport Information”.
  • Select “Visa” or “Residency,” (Depending on your visa type, you must select “Residency” if you have applied for a Residence visa, or “Visa” if you have applied for an e-visa or visit visa)
  • Fill your passport number and the passport expiry date. (If you are a UAE resident, you can also enter your Emirates ID)
  • Select your Nationality from the drop-down menu.
  • Complete the captcha verification process and click “Search” on the lower right side.

If all the steps followed are correct, you will be able to see your UAE visa application status along with the file number, date of entry, and date of expiry.

Checking Dubai visa status using GDRFA Portal

You can also check your UAE visa status if you have an entry permit or residence visa on the official website of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).

  • Visit their official website.
  • Select “Residence Validity” from the dropdown option.
  • Enter your residence visa file number. (You can find this information on your visa page on the passport)
  • Enter your full name as mentioned on your passport.
  • Choose your gender.
  • Fill your date of birth in the dd-mm-yyyy format.
  • Check the box to complete the captcha verification.
  • Click “Submit.”

If all the information you entered is correct, the details of your visa validity along with UAE visa expiry date, name, date of birth, nationality, and gender will be displayed below your submission form.

Note: This website currently has a separate portal only for Dubai visa applications and not the rest of the UAE.

Another option is to download the official app of GDRFA Dubai on your mobile phone and check your visa validity.

  • Open the GDRFA app and go to “Services”.
  • Click “Entry Permit / Residence Status”.
  • Select “Residence Inquiry”
  • Enter the relevant details:
  • Visa code
  • First name
  • Nationality
  • Date of birth
  • Click “Inquiry”

If all the details are correct, a green tick will come into view along with your visa information including your full name, the visa type, the UAE visa expiry date, and the visa number.

Note: You are not required to sign up or create a login to check your visa status. You can use the same process to find out the status of your Dubai visit visa.

Checking your UAE visa status offline using your passport number

If you do not wish to check the visa status online or if you don’t have access to the internet and still want to check your status here is how you can do it.

  • Call 600-522-222 to check your UAE visa status with your passport number.
  • Call Amer Centre at 800-5111 if you have a Dubai visa.
  • Call +971-4-313-9999 if you are outside the UAE and want to check your visa status.

There are several Dubai visa rejection reasons including incomplete or incorrect information on the application, insufficient funds to support your Dubai trip, criminal record or misconduct, blurred photographs, and so on.
