Why is the Museum of the Future created

There is a reason the Museum of the Future stands out as it focuses on what the future holds, rather than what the past showcased as is the case with so many other museums. In a world where optimistic and sustainable living in the future will be made possible by combining science and innovation, the Museum of the Future is projected as a beacon of hope where science and technology are used to solve problems and push the boundaries of human progress. In addition, UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also envisioned the Museum as a testament to his vision to make something that was so beautiful that it would remain a legacy for many generations to come. He also pledged to create the future we desire and vigorously strive to build it with powerful resources and innovation as a driving force. The Museum is a project of the Dubai Future Foundation which was started in 2016 with the objective of exploring ways to create a better tomorrow. The Museum of the Future Dubai opening date 2022 was also quite special as it officially welcomed guests on 22-02-2022 – a palindrome date.

A bit about its state-of-the-art design

the art design of the museum of the future

An immense amount of thought and effort has been put into the design of this attraction. An eye-shaped metallic structure can be seen from far away dazzling in the desert sun. Against the intimidating high structures of Dubai city, the unique architectural design conceived by Killa Design Architecture and Buro Happold stands out. The circular shape represents humanity and the hollow in the centre represents the void of the unknown future that lies before us. The structure stands on a verdant hilly landscape, which is the entrance of this museum, also symbolizes our planet Earth. The whole exterior structure consists of 1024 metallic tiles – symbolizing the construct of 1 Kilobyte and a nod to the fast-paced internet advancement in today’s world. These silver tiles are robotically made and on these, Arabic quotes by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum are carved extensively in Arabic calligraphy which sends a heartfelt message of why the Museum of Future was created. The interior of the building is as visually appealing as it is from the outside.
